| In the fall of 2001, NPO Nippon Karate Shotokai Gifu Headquarters published "Black-Belt Holder List" for the general age group which has 160 students from 28 districts. Most of the people listed in this list are still practicing karate now. The list include information such as each person's picture, black-belt ranking, date ranking was awarded, position, and type of the qualification, as well as the list of the people with qualification. This first edition represents the good start of the Gifu Prefecture Headquarters of the 21st century. Currently, we have many students practicing very hard to reach black-belt. We hope that they will achieve their dreams and their name will be added to the second edition. |

| Ginan District | |
| This spring, I am very honored to receive the important role as a leader of Ginan District. Thinking that there are quite a few other people who have much more experience than I do and not being quite sure if I really deserve this role, we started the Ginan District at the Nanbu Sport Center in June. Currently, we have pre-school, elementary school students as our main body at Ginan District Dojo. Looking back 10 years ago when my own children joined a dojo, the oldest son and the oldest daughter were in elementary school, and the younger son was in kindergarten. I feel the time has passed by looking at those children helping the younger students learn at dojo. In October, we have 2 adults and 16 children learning and practicing hard together. We would like not only to learn karate skill but, based on the dojokun, also to develop a gentle and kind personality which understand other peoples' difficulty. At last, but not least, I appreciate the trust and wonderful result that other district leaders as well as Gifu Prefecture Leader, Chogo Tanaka Shihan, have worked. I will work very hard to make more progress and would appreciate your support. Ossu! Ginan District Leader, Kazunori Oya |
