Hosted by NPO Japan Karate Shotokai Gifu Prefecture
2002 First Seminar on Kata/Kumite and Referees
「Complete in 8 hours!」

At 9am, 256 people in dogis arrived in front of the flag at Gifu Prefecture headquarters.
It was held at the Gifu City Tobu Gymnagium and was a rather big event using both large and small rooms.
In the morning, all in attendance gathered in the large room for the seminar on testing categories taught by Keiko Hayakawa Shihan, Gifu Prefecture head of the instructors, and Kanichi Sonohara Shihan, Gifu Prefecture subhead of instructors.
The demonstrators were District leaders Hiroshi Nakamura Shihan, Toshihau Matsuba Shihan, and Takeshi Sonohara. It was a very convincing seminar.
After that seminar, the judges with each district leader held the seminar on Wheelchair Karatedo and the black belt students had a Kata seminar. After the lunch, the seminar on the Wheelchair Karateto continued, and we also held some seminar and testing on the new judges for 2002, including kata, kumite, and group kata.
Around 5pm, Chogo Tanaka…. announced the testing results and certificates were handed out to the new judges who had passed the test. To conclude the event, a certificate of appreciation for participation was handed out to the instructors and district leaders. It was a very meaningful day.
We would like to show our appreciation to District leader Yukio Ishii who prepared the facility for this seminar.

                            Experience is power
                                   −Looking for the Courage−

                                                                    Start at 5pm from April

Further Challenge- That is the martial "art"

The cherry trees with bare branches bear the hardship of snow and wind. But now, as March comes, and the snow melts and the north wind ceases, the cherry trees start to bud.
This strength and perseverance is reflected in the repeated challenge for the black belt.

March 24th Blackbelt applicant
1st 132 students, 2nd 7 students, 3rd 2 students

[Discipline]

Nakamura Shihan, Matsuba Shihan, Kojima Sensei, Kokubo Sensei, Ishibashi Sensei

Now, they disciplined their mind and body, and are in the middle of the fight against themselves.
That is a more difficult "do" than a challenger.
